You might know that I’m looking more and more into natural skincare, beauty products and a zero waste shop in Amsterdam. However I just don’t know where to start or what to look for. I’m still working on a fair closet and it can all become a bit much when you want to change everything drastically, and I have to remind myself that this is not needed. We can just do this step by step. You also don’t have to figure things out all yourself, it’s okay to ask for a little help. Last Saturday I found all the help I needed, when I walked into this little shop in De Pijp in Amsterdam called DIY Soap.
That’s where I finally understood: Instead of looking at the [non-understandable] label of beauty products in stores, we can do it ourself! This way we know exactly what ingredients the product contains. We don’t need all the chemicals, we can basically make our beauty products with ingredients we use in our kitchen day-to-day.
Sounds great but still, where do we start? From ready made beauty products to Do It Yourself beauty packages, the DIY Soap store is there to help. If you want a little more help, you can even make a DIY body scrub and body cream in store, how great is that. I did not even tell you about the best part. Besides knowing what ingredients the product contains, these products are mostly zero waste! Yes, we don’t need plastic bottles anymore. Re-using and refilling is very much supported by the store.
If you’re getting as excited as I am by making your own harm-free beauty products in the shop! Then you can also take part in multiple workshops.
